ZU × ORI is a genre-bending romance-fantasy and epic reincarnation sequel to Shakespeare’s Romeo + Juliet. Set in modern-day New York City, the lovers return as Zu and Ori—two teenagers at Trinity Rose High School, drawn together by echoes of memory, déjà vu, and a destiny that's waited for 500 years.

Zu and Ori from L.A. find each other again at Trinity Rose, pulling a constellation into motion: Hermes—quick-witted and protective; Tai—the Capulet scion behind Nepenthe; Lauren—the teacher who can’t help but help; and Lucrezia—a seeker searching for a soul. Each carries a Verona past: some will protect Zu and Ori; others push for tragedy to repeat.
The Montague–Capulet feud began in medieval Verona over memory, not honor: Capulets—master perfumers—engineered fragrances to unlock and steer past-life recall, while Montague Initiates guarded natural remembrance and karmic balance.
After Romeo and Juliet’s deaths, the Capulets clung to a prophecy of Juliet’s return to perfect a red perfume that could control destiny; the Montagues taught safer rites to guide true recall. The rivalry ran underground for centuries and now resurfaces around Zu and Ori—where memory is the prize, and fate is the battleground.
